    I’m just -
    I’m just -

I have been putting off watching this for years because I knew it would feel physical and real. In fact, this movie made me want to climb out of my skin, remove my internal organs, etc. It was just as incredible as I thought it would be. I feel like a NERD for how much I liked this movie. I wish I could show this one to my class but they just wouldn’t get it. It’s simple and it’s undone and there’s not much to distract from the dialogue. The performances are stunning - Josh O’Conner is the MAN! The 9th graders want Baz Luhrmann’s flashy cinematography - guns, Ferraris, cross memorabilia, fast zoom ins on LA, etc. Do NOT misunderstand me I love the 96 one…

A few people have hyped this up and told me that they think I would enjoy it. It felt like vibes, no plot until the very end. There’s this absolutely gut wrenching scene where her child is talking and she is staring blankly at her… so haunting. It was strange to be given the perspective of a child, knowing and seeing everything through an adult lense. You couldn’t focus on any of the nostalgia, fun of childhood because it was all masked by impending doom? Dafoe is STUNNING and it was so cool to see him in a role like that.
