  god this is one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. it’s clearly to some extent a response to beau travail but its emotional character is so different that the similarities don’t feel derivative. beau travail feels like it is about the distinctness of human bodies moving in relationship with the world and with others, and about the contradiction, tension, etc. that arise from that distinctness. this movie is about indistinctness— human bodies as part of a vague whole.…
