  QUITE different from the book (which I read last year). The film is much more action-packed and fast-paced, somewhat to the detriment of me caring about Mickey 17 as much. I'm glad I saw it, but I'm not in a rush to see it again.

  I Heard It Through the Grapevine 1982

  A trip through the American south of 1980 through the eyes of James Baldwin. A quiet film with some really raw reflections on the civil rights struggle. I really loved all of the different people he met with and the way their stories were shared through the lens of Baldwin’s own experience of returning to America after years of living abroad.
