Planet of the Apes 1968
This was a solid sci-fi and I definitely see why it was groundbreaking. Some of the shots in this film are absolutely insane and the cinematography was the highlight for me. It also had a very strange soundtrack that I enjoyed and was also a major highlight (Jerry Goldsmith went deep on this one and it paid off). Nineteen Eighty-Four 1984
Really enjoyed this one. It did an excellent job capturing the source work which is not an easy task. The shots in this one are iconic and I enjoyed the soundtrack as well. But the real highlight is the acting of John Hurt who steals the show. The style of the film is cold and hopeless and this helps to lure you into the film.

High Sierra 1941
I can see why this movie is considered a classic, but it has aged more than other movies of the time… the cinematography and action shots were clearly groundbreaking and Humphrey Bogart shines but some of the other acting is extremely dated and this took me out of a few scenes. Still worth your time but I would say there are other Bogart classics to catch up on before this one.
