I love comic book stories because sometimes they are absurd but in a good and believable way. With this film I didn’t have that. I don’t feel like there is much at stake and the writer is responsible for that. The dialogue feels a bit off and the action scenes doesn’t make up for that.

Logan 2017
Well, didn’t see that coming. I was surprised by the take on Wolverine but then I saw that Mangold were the director. He never disappoints. It is a nasty, thriller (almost horror on my opinion) with an astonishing performance by both Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart.
The X-men movies are not for me because they didn’t focus enough on the depths of these characters. This movie does for every important person in it. A great way to start 2025 movie season for me.

The Holdovers 2023
What can I say. This movie will probably be in my mind for a very long time. It combines comedy with a very clear coming of age story. The character development is wonderful (because of the acting) and the cinematography does some turning twists. I didn’t expect it to touch me that much, but this one was a real tearjerker.

This movie confronted me with addiction on a very different level that I didn’t saw before. The father and son relationship made me cry multiple times. The acting was so good. Steve Carell is much more than his Office-show.
