a good animated film usually makes me both laugh and cry, but this didn’t do either. animation was overstimulating. dialogue not too clever. story tackles good themes, but simple not in a good way. the villain is hauntingly scary, I would have nightmares about it if I was a kid.
and why does the hero theme song sound like written to rhyme in another language and then translated into English as an ikea instruction?

Flamboyant, captivating and soulful.
But as much as I enjoyed watching this courageous eye-candy of a "feminist classic", the film left a bitter aftertaste of stereotypical female inability to think strategically. At particular scenes it appeared as if plain stupidity was being passed for admirable spontaneity.
Yet, in a way, the charm of "Thelma and Louise" lies exactly in the fact that their decisions don't "make sense" and contradict the cautious life most of us lead.
So if I cease looking at this from a gender related perspective, I am back to saying what I originally wanted -- this film is definitely worth a watch.Translated from by -

A story with great potential which is left unexploited as the film offers nothing more than a 2 hour extension of the single sentence plot synopsis found on Letterboxd or IMDB. It certainly touches some thought-provoking ideas yet it stays on the surface becoming gradually less and less interesting to watch. I would have appreciated the presence of adult perspectives of Ma and Old Nick which would have made the story significantly easier to empathize with. Nevertheless, I must agree…
