  Started off as a weirdly unremarkable memoir but a truly imaginative twist (I hadn’t read anything about the film beforehand) changed it to something much more gripping as we wondered why the main character was “warned off” her beau Chad. Lovely setting - there won’t be many Ontario residents who don’t remember that fondly - and a tear jerker of a conclusion.
