The Big Lebowski 1998
Perfect portrait of 90's Los Angeles with all the psychopaths, narcissists, slackers and rich dipshits all tied around this mystery that, in the end, doesn't even matter.
You can feel how this movie and PTA's Inherent Vice pull from the same materials but manage to create drastically different atmospheres and it's so cool.
The best thing about the movie is that all of the crimes and wrongdoings don't feel glorified in any way, even though the bad guys always seem to take the innocent down with them too(Donnie). I guess that's just how it goes, the dude abides.

A picture that works and functions solely in the world of film. Unrealistic to a surreal and magical point.
