Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire 2023
Not a masterpiece, but honestly way better than I was expecting. I'd rank it as my 2nd most liked Zach Snyder film after 300.
They managed to create a relatively interesting universe with some cool scifi elements. Gotta give them credit for at least telling an original story, even if some of the individual scenes felt lifted from other classics.
Really needed more character development, for the vast majority of the movie I didn't care about the characters or why they were assembling together. But the final battle/twist help bring it all together.
Curious to see where Part 2 goes.

Best part of the movie was seeing a digital young Indiana Jones. Otherwise it had some classic Indiana Jones moments but didn't really bring enough to warrant adding to the series.
Pretty confused about the ending, either they ran out of budget or the initial ending got reworked after test screenings. Seemed like a great chance to have a nice sendoff for Indy but instead they just hit ctrl-z.
