I don't know that I would have seen this without the Celebration Cinema membership and extra free time, but it was an enjoyable time. I love the resurgence for Ke Huy Quan, and I've had a crush on Ariana Debose since West Side Story. Also after two movies I'll say Marshawn Lynch is funny, athletes always wanting more, eh?

Sophie Thatcher is fast becoming someone I want to see more from after this movie and Heretic from last year. Jack Quaid is excellent as well. The initial concept of the strained relationship between a man and a companion robot drew me in but I was not massively enthusiastic. Pretty quickly this movie throws some exciting twists and kept me thoroughly entertained.
I want to see more from this cast, and writer/director. I will probably go back watch his previous film "Barbarian" even though horror is not my typical genre of choice.
I really enjoyed this movie. Kieran Culkin is the breakout star of the movie, and delivers a moving performance as a traumatized thirty something trying to connect with his past and find a new way forward. Jesse Eisenberg is wonderful as his anxious repressed cousin. This movie may be a smaller story but I laughed, was moved, and felt more alive for having seen it.
