I got to see an early screening new British indie film Scrapper. A noticeable debut from Charlotte Regan, but it mainly serves as a déjà vu capsule that reminds you of other films of its ilk that have done the same thing but better. There’s flashes of creativity with some zany directing, daydream sequences, and documentary style interviews of people on the estate that serve as punchlines or add magical realism to the sombre day-to-day of Georgie’s poverty-ridden upbringing.
