More edge than your typical biopic. It wasn’t afraid to show the characters flaws. In fact, it was largely about how flawed he was but how he still managed to persevere. Smith’s Oscar winning performance was good if a bit uneven. His emotional register felt a bit contrived when it reached the heights of welling up.

More like Audiences Leaving. I’m a fan of Polley’s work but this was a massive miss. It just simply wasn’t compelling enough given its reliance entirely on dialogue.

This feels more like a mid '90s indie than it does an early '00s effort. It possibly represents the last vestige of that era of filmmaking. A lovely cast and mildly amusing story (Macbeth set in a 1970s fast food restaurant), but not much more. A forgettable, yet entertaining time capsule.

First Saura film I’ve seen that wasn’t all that great. Kinda confusing and staid.
