  Very, deeply sad tale of rural Spain. I am not sure I liked the choice of the main characters being French (they could have been from other regions of Spain), it adds a layer to the story that is profoundly uncomfortable for a Spanish watcher (perhaps that’s the objective) and does not necessarily add to the main storyline.

  Apart from that, beautiful production and direction. Enjoyed the music that it’s not music and the landscape shots. I have to say I’ve never seen an oak field in the region ever, rare representation of eucalyptus-filled Galicia.
