Call Me by Your Name 2017
The movie encapsulates the feeling of a summer romance lovingly and beautifully. It may seem dull at times as it depicts their daily life, but I think it’s those moments that are worth depicting, showing how even in the simplest moments, Elio’s infatuation is growing. The entire movie is written in subtlety, from Elio’s “Because I wanted you to know” to Oliver’s “hint.” All these simplistic action to convey an overwhelming love Elio encounters. And it’s in the most simplest goodbye Oliver seems to leave too holding the same fear that prevents them from being truly together. It’s devastatingly beautiful
