Dead Poets Society 1989
Wish I watched this as a youth in high school. Feels like mandatory viewing for English. Would have left as much of an impression as Into The Wild did. RIP Robin Williams.

Schindler's List 1993
Not entirely historically accurate, but I do think that’s okay for this narrative. After visiting Auschwitz, this film even hits more at home the third time watching it. Young Ralph Fiennnes played the sociopathic Nazi leader perfectly. I found the black and white a bit frustrating when younger but it does help take you back in time on rewatches. Liam Neeson was iconic, and Ben Kingsley, unrecognizable from my young eyes who only knows him through Wes Anderson’s short, “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” was similarly brilliant. One of Spielberg’s best!

The Grand Budapest Hotel 2014
Possibly my favourite film of the 2010s. Wes Anderson’s most iconic work.
