It’s rare when you see a film that is breathtakingly and sumptuously made whilst being camp as tits.
The score and the dialogue is not written to be underplayed, but rather showcases two actresses at the top of their game.
There’s just something camp about the name Barbara. Add to the pot: a dollop of Judi Dench’s finest work. Pair it with: a hearty Cate Blanchett and BAM. Camp personified.
Oh, and I can’t even talk about Philip Glass. I think I’ll explode.
