Elegantly crafted remake does so much right —the production values are superb — but ultimately the craft is so much more involving than the story itself, which never really justifies why we are retelling the Dracula (er. Count Orloc) tale once again, Lots and lots of portent but ultimately a rather standard vampire flick

Despite the bouncy score, this is a surprisingly honest film about the boredom and inertia that can accompany old age. But it also isn’t a downer. Carney, Strasberg and Burns are excellent, but in the end this is George Burns’ movie.
