Origin of the “men will do xyz before going to therapy?” Shows mental illness and masculinity in a unique way that isn’t too on the nose. Very grounded while still using fantastic dream sequences. Michael Shannon really is one of the greats and I love Shea Whigham.

Nosferatu 2024
Not my favorite Eggers- did feel like a genuine nightmare though. The rest of the film couldn’t keep up with the trance like pacing of the first meeting with Orloc which was very haunting. Love Orlocs voice and the way he’s framed. This movie is also really disgusting.

The Big Chill 1983
I find comfort in the 80s interiors and the 60s pop soundtrack. It handles a very serious topic with smart humor and I’m always impressed when ensemble casts are given equal time and depth. Genuinely funny and thoughtful.
