The fact that this got a theatrical release in 2025 is an accomplishment. And judging by the related trailers before starting… also a breath of fresh air for Hollywood studio animation.
That being said, besides the half dozen belly laughs from me in an otherwise empty theater, the plot is pretty formulaic and predictable. The production quality—while good—uses the modern WB Animation house style (think of those recent Tom & Jerry direct-to-video movies) that I am also not a fan of.
On a positive note, Bauza knocks it out of the park voicing dual leading roles, and the loving homages to Looney Tunes’ history are tasteful.

Not groundbreaking, yet not completely traditional, Wish’s strengths are in its overarching conceit (losing a wish and thus losing purpose in life) and the vocal performances of DeBose and Pine.
