  Just an outstanding film featuring absolutely wonderful acting by Steiger and Plummer that was complimented by beautiful cinematography. Steiger’s Napoleon steals all the scenes he’s in, embodying the man and all his contradictions. It makes the Emperor’s recent portrayal by Scott and Phoenix almost laughable, and verging on disrespectful in my opinion. The battle itself and the wide shots encapsulating it are simply stunning and the calvary charges look better than almost anything I’ve seen recently. Maybe it’s just because I’m so interested in this period of history, but I absolutely love this movie.
