  A corny, overacted “comedy” that’s ostensibly supposed to be funny but isn’t. The only reason for this film’s relatively high rating has to be nostalgia, because there’s not much that’s redeeming about it. I would not recommend it, and won’t watch it again.

  I pulled this up the day it became available to stream on Netflix so I could hate watch it. After the train-wreck of a press tour and the film’s lead not even understanding what the story was, I thought this was going to be a dumpster fire.

  Planet of the Apes 1968

  The film that started the franchise. This was my second time watching this. I saw it once as a very young child and remembered the final scene. 

  It has a slow start which I found interminable as a child and still thought ran on too long as an adult. This was a good performance by Heston.
