Kamikaze Girls 2004
The spectrum of gayness: romanticising the Rococo wearing lace to black lipstick and girl biker gangs… A camp coming of age, Kamikaze girls has creative cinematography, a unique storyline and while slightly cheesy ain’t nothing wrong with that! Using offbeat humour, it tells a heartwarming and charming story and develops two female characters who could easily become two dimensional stereotypes as so often occurs in Japanese storytelling. It offers a glimpse into two prominent female-centred subcultures and youth in general. A truly enjoyable watch!

Lisa Frankenstein 2024
A love letter to camp, horror, monster boyfriends and 80s hair - what more could you want? Oh and Cole Sprouse being basically mute is a plus. Fun, unhinged performances from the main cast and witty dialogue made this one for the girls.
