The dread, unrelenting. Lingering on open doorways too long, the dialogue mix pushed to the front until you want to run away from their words, rapid flashes of evil and history.

One of the top horror films I’ve seen and honestly, just a solid, great film. Inspiring, tight, simple, and so effective because of its commitment to characters and tone. Nicolas Cage also delivers one of his most chilling and deranged performances, completely submerging himself in this role.

My sensibilities are here, let’s goooo!!

Instant classic. Knew it would be a fucking hit for my parents but it was a SLAM DUNK! Tears all around, that’s called bonding, people.

Not even Mason Goodings charm could make this film funny, scary, or romantic – the three things its premise should be.

Wow. Yes. Been wanting to rewatch this pretty much since I saw it last winter (and I cried then in the theater with my best friend and mom).

Wanted to see it again especially during this winter because I feel like it’s a great Christmas film. Just as good as the first time and one to see again and again.

The writing and directing is exquisite from Gerwig – she just gets it. The monologues leave me holding my breath.…
