There Will Be Blood 2007
The score!!!! sounding like a rhythmic sputtering machine that could implode on itself at any moment??? so much suspense is built throughout this movie… it is stellar. Made me realize I don’t know how oil drilling works. Lots of blunt force trauma. Really creative camera work, set is great. And when that oil rig explodes? Girl. Mesmerized.

Could’ve easily been another situation where an objectively yucky male psycho is misinterpreted by male audiences as a super cool antihero but Jake is so greasy in this that I think that interpretation is near impossible. Made me feel nostalgia for LA which was unfortunate.
