What begins as a simple case of criminal fraud ends as with the discovery of a tormented man by the director, Abbas Kiarostami, and his film team.
First off, the single frame cinematography in order to capture moving scenery is masterful and reminiscent of John-Pierre Melville. Second, the matting of color connects the setting to the sadness of the plot, creating a sort of unity between previously seperate entities.
