It must be pretty tough and lonely to have that desperate feeling of not feeling yourself or anyone, the way I could feel watching Owen and Maddy so out of their reality's tune, not feeling to have a (meaningful) purpose, someone to love or the right emotions and memories. The scene where Owen said he had to become a functional adult resonated so hard! And what's The Pink Opaque? What could distort "life" and "reality" to become a more comfortable and real place and time to live? The heartbreaking ending has only summed up and confirmed their whole heartbreaking existence in the "real world".

Heartbeats 2010
Once again I'm in love with one of Dolan's films. Maybe it's because I'm an emotional gay guy trying to relate even the tiniest details to my experience, as we are still underrepresented in media (a bit cringe, a bit cliché). More than 10 years after its release, I'm glad to still encounter novelty in one of my favourite directors. I'll certainly rewatch it many more times!
