  There really is a de Palma style here. Where A Grand Day Out angled more into comedy, this one verges on neo-noir territory. This feels like a prototype version Mission: Impossible. I’m so entranced by how creative this is.

  Much like the shock I had remembering that Bob Clark directed both Black Christmas and Baby Geniuses, I am also feeling so much whiplash knowing Ben Wheatley directed this.

  The conscious. The subconscious. The unconscious. To have each of these forces simultaneously hate you would deal a crippling blow to anyone. I felt a conceptualization of all that negativity in Container. Thankfully, I’m not currently facing a depressive episode. If I did and watched this, I think I’d be dying.

  This was a host of emotions slowly bleeding out from a body.

  Slow-descent-into-madness-core is something I didn’t know I really loved until now. 

  How an autopsy can leave drastic scarring to one’s psyche. Trauma is the cruel mistress in this, not fate.
