This movie is completely timeless to me. They didn't overdo the typical tropes you see in movies made during this era such as the "mean girl", the "airhead", or the "nerd". It was refreshing to see characters have some depth, in addition to flaws. No one was a perfect character and you could see how each person's actions affected the people around them.
