  Go Tell the Spartans 1978

  Attention everyone who both will at one point watch this movie and has a weirdly specific memory of old Drew Gooden videos (I'm sure there's at least one person other than myself who's in the center of that venn diagram): The "Mar Vista Productions" that made this movie is not the same as the "MarVista Entertainment" who made the modern holiday classic Christmas Mail. Thank you, that will be all.

  Anyway, this is a pretty solid war picture in my estimation. Nothing revelatory, but it's consistently engaging and Burt Lancaster is great as expected.

  I can't believe no one ever told me this wasn't more or less a normal rom-com when it has stuff like the constant nonlinearity, the bit where they play with subtitling, the metanarrative part at the end, and a straight up animated segment.
