this film feels like it was made way before 2020, in a good way, but it was made at an appropriate time. i think this film really captures the perception of the midwest in the united states (in a heightened way maybe, i’ve never been so i wouldn’t really know lol), & while at times on the nose, the phrase “dinner in america” carries deeper meaning which is implied/roughly brought up in the film (especially at the end)—it’s representative…
this is a great film that explores the primitive nature of rage, as well as the idea of life & death— how it can affect others and what it means. the symbolism & foreshadowing are great as they help further develop the themes explored. there is more i want to say but i just can’t seem to find the words /:
it is a slow burn for sure but the editing style makes it seem as thought you are watching this in real time & are in the environment with the characters.

it is a beautiful film about tragedy, love, loss, and the complexity of humans and humanity in general & is reflected through the different relationships that each character has with Charlie.
