Only took me 24 years to watch this masterpiece. A void has been filled. Absolute perfection. Triple bill this with My Neighbour Totoro and Flow and your dirty human soul might be cleansed.

Literally never seen an espionage film where so many people are wearing jeans. SWAT teams wearing jeans. Villains wearing jeans. Spies wearing jeans. Ralph Fiennes in this film is like “Either you VatiCAN or you VatiCAN’T”.Gorgeous cinematography, unreal production design, sound design underscored by the dulcet tones of monsieurs Fiennes and Tucci’s vocal boxes, and an audience mistaking this for a comedy. Seriously need audiences to pipe down and not react so viscerally during screenings. Anyway - 90s Miramax prestige drama vibes and definitely on its way to an 11 Oscar nom run.
