    This movie has the opposite problem of the 1993 Dracula in that it doesn't know what to do with itself in the first half but finds its footing in the second. It looks nice (the scene on the stairs and the town in general) but lot of the direction is slow and repetitive without gaining much from it. The 90s one is much better looking most of the time. Nosferatu himself looks and sounds pretty dumb, neither classic nor scary.…

    Nicholas holt makes great distressed facial expressions and really sells the look of a guy who's in a serious jam for a whole movie. The big issue is that the casting of the other jurors and much of the dialogue between them as well and the lawyers reads as manufactured and just dumb. But the central moral and political paradox is compelling and believable and I thought that even though I usually don't like trolley problem style ethical dilemmas very much. It actually poses an instructive question about the goals of political punishment which is impressive and enough to hold attention on its own
