The Curse 2023
I’m still trying to wrap my head around what this was. as a show. as a piece of art. as a feeling of gnawing inner tension. it was powerful. I think it fits more in the context of Nathan Fielder’s other work in The Rehearsal. I see the story of a man who is contending with the notion of authenticity as a permanent outsider. These stories are so deeply human, but there’s nothing else like it I’ve seen on TV.
