I quite enjoyed the severity of violence towards racists. Felt a bit too white saviour for me due to Tarantino not being black. Plus django being helped by a white man throughout.
Some meaningful bits throughout. Also some funny bits too and good performances.
Wasn’t really blown away by Leonardo di caprio’s or Samuel Jackson’s performances. Maybe it’s because Tarantino is about cool dialogue and cool/suspenseful vibes and not necessarily about meaningful highly political stuff. Probably why it fell flat. I get it’s probably accurate to black exploitation films. Also went on too long.

I wouldn’t say that it’s one of my favourite movies or one of the greatest movies in the world. I made the mistake of having high expectations so it didn’t really meet them which isn’t unusual. Usually it’s good to expect something to be 49% good, but secretly hope to be pleasantly surprised.
