  It’s vapidly shallow, with tired performances, bland needle drops, poor make-up & wigs, lacks youthful energy, and I’ll be darned if you can tell me anything meaningful about the main character. 

  But this glossy sci-fi adventure is just that: A big shiny dumb new world-discovering tale. It’s not out of step with the family corporate spectacle movies of past decades. It’ll keep you interested for a couple hours, but you won’t be watching anything of substance.
