Oh my word. I don't pay attention to the Emmy's due to my lack of television watching, but I am rooting hard for this show to be recognized during the next award season. Man this is one of the scariest movies I've even seen. Knowing what's going to happen seeing this is very much a true story just made this feel like a horrifying ticking time bomb. It left such a pit in my stomach and I just had this lump in my throat during the final confrontation. I'm quite surprised I've never heard about this story till the movie, since I'm just about an hour outside of Oakland. I would've been 4 when this tragedy occurred, so I wouldn't have heard this at school or from my parents. The cop only served 11 months?! Jesus Christ.
That wraps up my quick yet, so fun experience at my first ever film festival. I'll definitely be coming back now that I finally know about it lol. I'm still mad I just didn't know about this, but hey, movies rule. This was just alright as I felt the story took too long to connect together but it's all good.
