The effects were great for the time the film was made, and I liked that monologue. I also liked the final ending scene with the oxygen tank. But the book had so much more nuance. unique film. Really liked the expectations/reality scene and the park bench closure scene. I think both characters were villainous, and they both learned something at the end (don't enforce your hopeless romantic expectations on others, but don't dismiss fate's hand in love either).I don't agree with the ending. Didn't the cycle just restart? There's more that Tom should learn before having the kind of love C.S. Lewis writes about (letting thrills die away for a quieter happiness). Or did Lewis get it wrong, and true love is what Summer found? Seems unrealistic.
