This film had me fucked up.
Addressing drug-addiction from a parent’s pov is such a heartbreaking perspective to take and Steve Carell did it so well. The weaving of moments from Nic’s childhood into the main storyline was done elegantly.
The visuals were great and really amplified the rollercoaster of emotions in the film. I didn’t really think Nic’s appearance changed all that much between the height of his addiction and when he was sober - that could just be for accuracy?

Feel good film about dreams. All the characters have failed and have been let down by reality and everyone else in the world but still come together to keep Olive’s dream alive.
There are many great concepts in the film, the deteriorating van and different aged characters representing different levels of ignorance.
There are a number of painful and stressful scenes that are then undercut by funny, heartwarming moments.
Overall, the film captures the best and worst parts of life and why it really is more about the journey than the destination.Translated from by
