  I've been hearing about this story for years, and I'm happy to say it was well worth the hype. Incredibly inventive premise elevated by excellent directing and J. Alphonse Nicholson's performance, who carries as the sole actor. This is a must-watch.

  A wonderfully-made look at a small but significant Black community. You can tell so much love was put into every aspect of it, but I especially loved the creativity with the animated portions during the opening and the credits, and the beautiful shots of the town's residents. I had never heard of Princeville prior to watching, so I'm grateful that this documentary exists to to share its story with the public! This needs to be seen by more people!
