u know when a piece of media puts an indescribable feeling into words? yeah that’s the movie
i wish i knew what causes the disconnect between some parents and viewing their children as individuals rather than an extension of their own hopes for “happiness”, but there’s a huge comfort in knowing it’s at least universal enough of an experience that takahata managed to create a film depicting it near perfectly. even if the story didn’t touch me deeply, this is by far my favorite ghibli film visually.

literally the most relatable n silly show on the market. i LOVEEDDDD seeing into all these weirdos brains and awed and cried and booed- i am invested! the concept of each of them having their mentalities + worries visualized resonated with me on infinite levels that i am positive there is at least some psychological insight 2 the development BUT THATS HOW GOOD IT ISSS ! and yeah ik the art style is kinda cringe but at least pixar is experimenting with storylines AND animation while disney has upkept the frozen style the past decade.
