  The acting from Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong are really what captured me. Stan had the mannerisms and some voice but it wasn’t played like a sketch or for approval as the ultimate Trump impression. I think this really let me see those ugly choices he makes internally. Strong kind of steals it in how transformative he is on multiple levels. His voice, rhythm of speech, physicality and specific character tics. It’s a lot to balance but it felt seamless and right on. I enjoyed the 70s New York sheen but overall the filmmaking was kind of lacking in unique and interesting choices.

  After many years pretty much all memory of this one left me and I saw it again for what really might as well be the first time with a sold out crowd at the Fox. 
  For me this is the ultimate reflection of the agony and cruelty that Lynch exposes in his worlds. Spiralling from that curio humour…
