The Abyss 1989
Groundbreaking effects for what is otherwise a sub Alien/The Thing “isolated group in danger” film for the most part. Endless exposition couples with a constant stream of unrelated incredible events falling one on top of the other for what seems like forever. Benign aliens then decide to put the wind up mankind for jokes and love conquers all. Nuts.
