  Overall, I enjoyed the movie, but it was satirical enough that I was unsure how much to trust it’s documentary-esque characteristics. Some of the dialogue seemed to suffer as a result, too, appearing too over-the-top or perhaps anachronistic to the context of the underpinnings of Fox. That said, maybe it was just as inane as they imply 🤷‍♀️

  Definitely an indie film, but I didn’t see too much in it besides the slow-developed theme of navigating a growing sense of identity and the expectations of family + authority figures. Plus it came with an excess of cursing—the father has a particularly nasty mouth—and some over the top sex scenes I wished were shortened or developed differently.

  The Fabulous Filipino Brothers 2021

  Overall, I really enjoyed the movie concept and aesthetic - especially considering it was written by/starred four actual Filipino brothers! Very cool. At the same time, there were several highly sexualized scenes that I thought were unnecessary—I would honestly suggest skipping forward if you ever feel uncomfortable, as the scenes I was put off by ended up having no relevance to the plot. My only other complaint was that a couple of the vignettes seemed to have a lack of resolution, or at least a very odd/jarring one.
