    The Brutalist

    ★★★

The Brutalist is a film that demands patience—arguably more than it deserves. Brady Corbet crafts an ambitious, sprawling narrative about architecture, immigration, and artistic integrity, but he does so with a level of emotional detachment that leaves the viewer more impressed than truly engaged.

Adrien Brody delivers a masterful performance, both haunted and restrained, while Guy Pearce adds a sharp, calculated edge to his role. Felicity Jones, as ever, is superb, though her character often feels more like a reflection…

    Paddington in Peru

    ★★★½

Paddington in Peru” is a wonderful family movie that follows in the charming footsteps of its predecessors. “Paddington 2” is still my favourite (thanks to Hugh Grant’s scene-stealing brilliance), but this one is just as silly, funny, and joyful—guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The cast is excellent, with Antonio Banderas perfectly embodying the gold-obsessed captain, whose ghostly lineage pushes him toward Eldorado. Olivia Colman is hilarious, and honestly, the whole cast shines. It’s another delightful adventure with everyone’s favourite bear, full of warmth, whimsy, and just the right amount of chaos.

    The Gorge

    ★★★★

The Gorge is thoroughly enjoyable—unexpected, unusual, and, most importantly, original. It blends genres in a way that feels fresh, moving seamlessly from romance to high-octane action without losing its heart. Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy are both excellent, bringing real weight and charisma to their roles. Their chemistry anchors the film, making even its wilder moments feel grounded. The cinematography is striking, with bold visual choices that help carve out a unique identity. In a sea of sequels and reboots, it’s refreshing to see something with this much style and ambition.
