This film was brilliant, easy on the eyes, engaging, sad, beautiful and educational, all at the same time as it told a powerful story about the author’s family and a very tumultuous time in history.
It’s an important piece to see today as empathy seems to be lacking in modern society, especially towards migrants. You truly feel connected with the family through their struggles and moments of joy… and I loved the clever integration of the narrator’s hand throughout, assisting the puppets. :)
Top-notch film.
