    Footloose

    ★★

If the aim was to make Ariel unbearable, then this movie was a huge success. Ren delivered some good one-liners that had Pippa and I doing slam poetry claps. Willard was my favourite and definitely the standout of the whole film, but maybe that was just because he was played by Miles Teller… I don’t know, jury’s still out.

    Rebel Ridge

    ★★★½

I usually find most action movies boring because they tend to feature predictable, never-ending action sequences. However, Rebel Ridge was a refreshing exception.

Not only did the film offer a lens into systemic injustice in a way that felt authentic and necessary, but it also added depth to the story without feeling heavy-handed. It’s rare for me to wish an action movie had more action scenes, but Rebel Ridge left me wanting exactly that. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and watching…
