As difficult a watch this film is, I think that everyone should see it. So many people in my school when I was a kid romanticized joining the army to fight in war and so many still do. This film breaks the romanticism of warfare right open and shows a realistic depiction of the complete shift of delusion to reality for the protagonist when he experiences the loss and horror that comes with war. Distrusting, beautiful, this film takes the viewer into the dark realities of history and the possibility of the future that we should not hope for while not understanding the cost required.

This was so sad to watch. How the mighty have fallen. We all know that the marvel ship is sinking but just… just wow. Biggest note: make the movie about the superhero’s themselves, not the time right before they become hero’s. Nobody cares. How did these girls become spider people? What does the ending with their flashy costumes and crime fighting montages even mean? Why wasn’t any of that the movie?

Poor Things 2023
This film was so unique, I had never seen anything like it. I liked how the lens evolution throughout mirrored Bella’s progress as an individual. The imagery and sounds sometimes made me feel very uncomfortable, which I think is a good thing. I want to be surprised and have my expectations leveled when I watch a film.
