Undoubtedly influential in terms of editing, this movie features some incredible shots and the story certainly has… something. BUT: The characters are truly impossible to like, especially Michelle, I swear if the people who made “sigma male” edits watched this movie they would certainly make some of him.
2.5/5 stars on Letterboxed and a “Shut up and show me your toes”/10 from me.
Very emotional movie. The relationship between Lady Bird and her mother is a fascinating subject matter for the film. Characters are well rounded and the cinematography is pleasing to look at. No stunning images but pleasant colors. I really enjoyed the Charakter of Kyle as he brought a comedic aspect to the movie without making it any less serious of a film. Caught myself snarling at his pretentious remarks more than once. There were also scenes that made me tear up, the movie hit the feels multiple times.
I would definitely recommend “Lady Bird”.
PS. I love you, Mom.
If you enjoy second hand embarrassment this movie is definitely one for you. I found it excruciatingly painful to watch in the best possible way. Julius is an extremely interesting main Charakter, the dialogues are delivered effortlessly as if they were ripped right out of reality (if you watch the movie in German), and the cinematography beautifully underlines the overall tone of the movie.
I would definitely recommend watching.
