    ★★★★

State of Siege definitely packs a punch, but is not as effective as similar films, such as Z or The Battle of Chile, due to its methodical and procedural nature.

Manages to strike a perfect balance between typical giallo traits and genuine terror. While it is still campy, it rarely takes the edge off a scene, as I feel is often the case in similar works. Plus what Goblin did here is just sensational.

Love these type of character-/sociodramas, layered with political and historical commentary disguised as crime/mystery films. Sad that films like these are barely made anymore.
Also the screenplay of this is especially well-crafted, but I'm not quite sure what to think of the ending.

Perhaps the greatest achievement in all of television. Both as an "ending" to the Twin Peaks tale and as a deconstruction and criticism of modern America, from its evolution post-WW2 to its Culture and Entertainment and finally to its current society and the structure thereof.

David Lynch's magnum opus. RIP, one of the greatest to ever do it
