This movie hits a lot of the important philosophical beats of French existentistal-phenomenology during this time - no doubt it came after May '68. Covering wide topics such as anti-colonialism, the encounter with the other characteristic of this exchange, and the destruction and adaptation of existing paradigms; that is, for myself, the definition of self-other.
One 'downside' of this philosophical tradition is it's proximity with colonialism and imperialism, it claims and consumes ideas that touch the periphery of the francophone…
